Title: If the Temperature is low or high what does effect to trouts'
Purpose(Yujin 11.8.2010): The trouts' can live in the tank as much as live outside
Definition: same as with purpose
Hypothesis: If the tempertature is 15.5 celsuis, ammonia 0ppm, Chlorine 0ppm, pH 7.0 and the dissolved oxygen 0ppm then the trouts will live, because these effects cause suitable for the trout.
Variables
  • Independent: The location of our habitat. by Daniza 11/8/10
  • Dependent:Number of trout, Temperature(Jon Robinson)11/19/10
Control:(Kail 11/9/2010)
  • Temperature should be betwwen 50 and 65 °F(10 and 20 °C)
  • 0ppm is the best for chlorine level for tank while 10ppm is the best for dissolve oxygen
  • Ammonia level should be 0ppm
  • The pH should be between 7~7.2
Materials: (Catherine 11/10/10)
  • 50 gallon tank
  • 50 gallons of H2O
  • Artica Chiller
  • pH testing kit
  • NH3 testing kit
  • DO testing kit
  • Cl testing kit
  • thermometer
  • plastic container for trout eggs
  • fish food
  • UV light
Procedures: We have to keep the tank between 50 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. We also have to use the chiller to control the temperature and check the tank temperature at least five days a week.

Conclusion:Rich
Our main goal is to raise trout more sucessfully than in the wildlife. So far we have been successful, but not as sucessful as we would like at this stage in the trout's life. So far over 50% of our trout have died. We know they had an unusually high death rate because of the lack of bacteria in the tank. So we raised the temperature to grow more bacteria and as a result the temperature was too high for our trout to survive. We are hoping to have less deaths and be sucessful in the future.
